The Workplace Literacy Project is a
collaborative venture between LVA and the Academy
of Hope. The project provides local employers with on-site
basic skills training for their workers.
The curriculum includes reading, writing,
oral communication, critical thinking, and basic math.
It addresses both work-related and personal learning
goals through classroom instruction and individual tutoring.
Current program sites include these:
- U.S. House of
Representatives
- D.C. Department
of Public Works
- D.C. Water and
Sewer Authority
- Special Olympics
- Howard University
